2016 Festival Thank You
Thank you for supporting the 53rd Annual Greek Festival, our final event downtown! After three decades at the Sacramento Convention Center where we've made cherished memories, we're moving to a new location and date.
In the spirit of our Greek tradition, we'll invite you "into our home" at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation where all future Festivals will take place. A brand new facility is under construction to host both an indoor and outdoor event similar to a panigiri. A centuries-old tradition, the panigiri is a vibrant celebration of food and music held in the center of town in villages throughout Greece. Imagine dancing to live music under the stars and feasting on barbecued lamb chops at the 2017 Greek Festival!
We're also changing the date to accommodate those of you who may travel Labor Day Weekend. Please mark your calendars each and every year for the first weekend of October. Next year's event will be held October 6,7, and 8 at the new location on Alhambra Boulevard right across from McKinley Park.
We sincerely want to thank the Sacramento Convention Center and downtown region for welcoming the Greek Festival over the years. We'll see you at our new home in 2017. Opa!
Mike Dariotis and Dan Eriksson, Greek Festival Co-Chairs along with 2016 Board Members Helen Grammatikakis, Stephanie Hionis, Maria Kaufman, Gerri Magers and Julie Mamalis
